[...] Proof that people make all sorts of weird shit on the internet. This game features a fighting Rabbi. The passage below is the creator’s description of the game. Russell Stone works as a Jewish Rabbi at a poor synagogue in New York City. He is a devout man with a problem. Membership is way down and he lacks the funds to keep his synagogue open. Things are looking very bleak, and he has grown progressively more cynical and bitter with the passage of time. [...]

[...] I love getting fanart. Nothing gives me more joy than to see other peoples’ interpretations of my characters. So, send me a drawing of your favorite character from any one of my games. Shivah, Two of a Kind, my RON games, whichever. The three best artists will get a free copy of Shivah Deluxe, along with their artwork showcased on this site. [...]

[...] - Later in the evening was the final session of my summer introduction to game design course. I had some coworkers come in and play the board-game that the students had been working on, and offer feedback and the such. Then after going over their final projects, we checked out something which one person has been working on for a while now, one who’s been creating his own games for a while now, mostly graphic adventures, using a program that’s geared specifically for their creation. The game is called The Shiva, and you play the role of a Jewish Rabbi who has to solve a murder mystery. Its one of the very few games out there, and the only one that I personally know of, that deals with the Jewish faith. And from what I saw, its quite nice, and has all the staples of a really good adventure game: great dialogue along with puzzles that are sufficiently clever and tricky, yet totally logical, and not totally arbitrary and arcane.
[...] I am back home for almost two months now. The job is alright and the weather over the past few weeks sometimes made using public transport a sadomasochistic endeavor. Some days ago my girlfriend and I met some friendly irish girls on the train home and talking to them made me realize how much I miss using English on a daily basis and even more so how much I miss all my friends in good old England. The Global Curse of Comic Sans made me think of Rob who is back in Barcelona, Spain. A wonderful article about the questionably use of a very ’special’ typeface. And Ray. This ‘Rabbi Adventure‘ which features “rabbinical conversation methods, a unique method of fighting, an original score, and three different endings!” might be something for you. Stuart once told me that he is thinking about going into the retouching business. This insane usage of Illustrator (Tutorial) reminded me of that. And Marc. I know Macs are great. But so are PC’s and toasters. And this little app might be handy for those shiny white machines. I am sorry Rukaya but no found linkage for you at the moment. Thinking about you anyway. Greetings to all. Mentioned or not. [...]
